LED Bathroom Mirror - Non-replaceable bulbs

Hi all,

We are thinking of buying a bathroom mirror from HIB.

This particular mirror uses LED lights.

The lights are non-replaceable.

According to HIB, the LEDs should last for around 12 years.

The warranty on the LEDs however is 3 years.

So what happens if an LED dies in year 4 or 5? Does this fall under the SOGA, and could I insist they repair it?

Thanks!

Have you spoken to HIB and asked them?

I looked at one for my bathroom when I was tiling a few years ago, what concerned me was that most of these mirrors are built in so would need to be tiled into the wall. What happens in 8,9,10 years time when the bulbs have gone? Do you need to retile etc?

They seem a lot of hassle for what they are worth to me.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the replies.

    1. HIB simply restated that their warranty is 2 years on the mirror and 3 years on the LED

    2. Thankfully the unit isn't built into the wall, so I could in theory get it off if need be.

    Thanks,
    Rajiv
