DS Lite or PSP?

Well, that's the question. OH's birthday's coming up and she wants one. My understanding is that the DS Lite is technically superior and the games are more interesting and that the PSP looks good and can do movies.

I hope you all had a good one!

Living in a house hold with 2 ds's and 2 psp's my personal opinion is the PSP kicks the backside of the DS.
The DS is more robust and the games tend to be geared more to towards young'uns, I know that they have mario cart etc but the depth of games doesnt come anywhere near that of the PSP.
Also if you use the PSP correctly its so much more than a games machine, you can play umd's, psp's answer to the dvd, download videos from the net and play them, store photos, mp3's and if you have the correct version of PSP and motherboard you can dip your toe into the worderful world of homebrew.
Hope this helps
all the best

Have to say that the pertinent word above is likely to be she. PSP games tend to be more "traditional" i.e. shooting, driving etc. (Although there are some exceptions, e.g. LocoRoco).
The DS Lite has more 'fluffy' games e.g. Nintendogs, which are more likely to appeal to women.
Please understand I'm not making any judgement on this; if your OH is into gaming and is interested in downloading movies etc. and watching them on the PSP then great. (But I'm guessing if she is, then she would know she wanted one, if you know what I mean).
Typically, most women would prefer the DS.Says James, in my opinion, there's nothing in this world

without homebrew i doubt many people would buy the PSP. And i only play the PSP because i can play homebrew games, aside from that it doesn't hold much appeal, why people would buy a umd video and watch it on the Psp only god knowsformerly mrmilo690

I had a PSP for the boring train commute to work when they first came out and was really impressed with it. Unfortunately i sold it because i decided i could spend the 90 minutes more productively studying (idiot)...
Girlfriend was a DS Lite for Christmas, its ok. Mario Kart is fun and reminds me of the good old SNES days. She wanted it for Mario games, Nintendogz those kind of games.
Id choose the PSP every time for variety of games and usefulness of the console.
Being able to watch movies, listen to music, browse the t'internet and play games on the PSP is great
Just budget for a nice 2GB memory stick to store a few movies on copied over from your DVD collection. 0
