Does anyone know of any insurers who recognized NCB earned overseas - a friend has just returned after living in the USA for 20 years
When I returned from Cyprus (after being posted there as I was in the RAF) I can remember finding it difficult to find companies who would honor the NCB built up overseas - however as I've been back in the UK 16 years I can't remember the names of the companies to help my friend

Many companies do, you just have to phone them for quotes and they will explain their requirements. Normally a letter in English from the foreign Insurers stating the no claims in years and the valid period it is for.
This is typically what they say taken from Churchill.
Only if it is issued by an insurer from an EU/EAA country (proof must be written in English). NCD earned in Australia, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Isle Of Man, Japan, Jersey, Monaco, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, USA or Zimbabwe is also acceptable provided it is written in English and the NCD level is shown in years and not as a percentage. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
