My old style ipod shuffle (the 512) is broken and I just want to replace it like for like. But it seems to have been discontinued in favour if the new clamshell style one which is even smaller.
Has anyone got one of these?
Can you give me some honest feedback about it please? Will it be suitable in the gym?
ps - despite hunting round the net I cannot find anywhere selling off the old obsolete versions for less that £49 - which is what I paid in the first place when I bought it!

Try the Apple online store, they have refurbished models for £29 of the old Shuffle 512MB version.

I've got one of the new shuffles for this very reason, the gym..
the clasp is ideal for clipping onto clothing and rather than having it banging round your neck (the old shuffle with the lanyard used to do this.) it stays fixed.
Well worth it, and the sound quality is still the best of the ipods, and I know having had...the mini, the old shuffle, the nano, the video...etc.
hope that helps0 -
I decided in the end to go for the newer version and bought it today - Argos (so it can be taken back quickly if it's no good).
My other one was fine till I updated to the latest itunes which I have since learnt has fried a lot of ipods.
Lots about it here - http://www.1418hell.com/0
