pass it onto your local charity shop
they will take it,they have a real
cross section of the public shopping
with them and no matter how awful
you think that scarf is someone is
    going to think its lovely.

Very often people buy real tatty stuff
not with a view to wearing but cutting
up for patchwork, quilting and art work.

unfortunately it's not smellies, it's an absolutely hideous scarf in a foul colour and it's made of feathery bits of material that are moulting all over my flat :rotfl:

i'd still give ebay a try - what about listing it as 'kooky', 'individual', 'hippychic'

or if all else fails, list it in the 'really weird stuff' section.

to you it's hideous, foul and feathery..........to someone out there on ebay, it's a really unique and chic garment for the stylish individual! (or something!)

remember, people have sold their own toenail clippings on ebay before (not me) so it might just work! :rotfl:

A woman I worked beside, brought all the hand lotions and body lotions into work and put them in the ladies, for anyone to use at their leisure - It was appreciated by most folk.

That's a nice idea. Probably depends on whether you work for a small or large organisation as to whether they get left or go AWOL though.

:shhh: i didnt say anything... :shhh:

Leave the bottles lined up in a public toilet - someone who is homeless may stumble across them and be grateful, however, grotty you think they are.

I dislike receiving smellies too and have one person in particular in my family who always buys me the biggest set they can find. Im sure its on purpose as we dont get on! It goes to show how well she knows me, or more like -she probably doesnt care!
Ill be putting this years stash on ebay but Ive got a feeling the postage costs could be huge as its a large box, (nothing expensive though.)
I dont buy smellies for my friends unless they specifically request them as I buy things I know they will like, so I cant recycle it really. I may end up donating it to my mums raffle.
I wish I knew which market stall said relative buys these things from so I can get her one next year.

Can't you unpack them, and package them into a homemade hamper and return them to her next year. If she is so keen on buying them for you then it must be something she would love to recieve.

By the way, I have no problem with receiving recycled gifts especially if it means I get a better value present but I do like to think that I have been given it because it was something I wanted and not just something that will do.

If the feathery bits are suitable for craft work, donate to your local nursery or school. Nurseries are always after stuff for the children to model with.

I recycle things I dont want or cant use. Just try to remember who gave them to you in the first place.

One funny story though - my aunt was given a set of M&S mugs by her brother one Christmas as a joint present for her and her hubby. She thought they were awful and it was naughty giving them a joint present so she took them back to M&S only to be told that they were really old stock at least 5 years and she couldnt have a refund as they were no longer listed on the computer. She stopped buying presents after that!!!

I used to work in Littlewoods part-time, and there were often people coming in to change some clothes they had been given for Christmas, but it turned out that they were so old they were no longer on the computer! Probably something that had been "doing the rounds" as a present.
  • You could take a tip from Flylady and use soapy stuff to keep your loo brush in for a quick swish round the loo each day. No matter how not your taste its got to smell better than the stuff they sell for the job - just don't use the body lotions!!!!
