Windows startup stalling - help please

    couldn't run tune up - said it wanted windows installer, unable to load

    ran reenable 2, but nothing seemed to happen, said it wanted a restart , which I did but system still the same

    just spotted something - looking at files modified since problem and top of the list is ntuser.dat but the system says this is video CD file , which does not seem right to me.

    Any suggested fixes or is restore the only option?

    ntuser is the registry, some dat files can also be video
    !!

    Seriously, backup, clean install and download and install all updates.

    Goodness knows what other outdated software you have installed. Start again and update everything.
