Morning,
The point Im at now is:-
I had the account no/sort code for Halifax, but as for Welcome all I had was the personal information, address etc.
Think I now have to wait until 1st August, (40 days)
This is my very first attempt at recovering any charges or PPI, wish me luck :j

Hi there, they may not find the data you require,if this is the case then they will send your cheques back,on the other hand, they may find your details then you can take it from there.
Fingers crossed x.0 -
Does this mean I am likely to stand a chance of getting the information I need?
They will send you what they hold on a relevant filing system. It may not be everything (as not everything is held on a relevant filing system) and it may only go back 6 years.
Whether that is enough for you to do what you want to do or find out what you need to find out is now a waiting game.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Well so far I have had a letter from Halifax to inform me they are working on supplying the information I have requested, standard letter I think.
Since I supplied the account number and sort code will they just supply the information for that account or will they send everything they "have on me" just curious as I had a mortgage at the same time with them.
Welcome however have sent nothing so far, is there also a procedure for me to follow if I do not get a reply within the alloted time?
Also do the 40 days start from the day of posting or day it was signed for, and is it 40 days as is, or 40 working days?

The 40 days starts from when they have the fee and the necessary information to trace you on their records. As far as I'm aware, it's 40 days - not 40 working days.0

Thankyou, I will check the date the cheques left my account.
