NEXT SALE..worth going?!

  • I think the whole reason people queue up for the Next sale is because they sell their normal high-quality clothing at very good prices, which is not matched by other retailers.

Next genuinely sell normal stock items items for up to half-price (and sometimes even less) whereas other stores only sell clearance/unpopular items and even then with small discounts.

I went to the Next Sale a few years ao and it was truly the worst experience of my life!! I got in and found that many people go in teams and get there early to get to the front of the queue. They literally strip the rails of everything that they want in all sizes by taking them in armfuls, they then dump them in a corner with someone sitting there with them to keep watch and then sort through them all when they have all the items they are looking for. It is madness - just for some clothes. Then if they bother to put them back you might have something to choose from and then you have to spend ver an hour in the queue to pay for the few pieces you have watching everyone else hop in and out with more items as they have someone keeping a place in the queue for them.

Now I usually shop the Online Sale but this morning was an absolute nightmare and it took me almost 2 hours and I got about 10 items being confirmed as being in stock as by the time the pages loaded they were then out of stock. No VIP slot offered for me for some reason this time so I had to browse through what was left and it was crashing all the time and taking 3 minutes or so for the pages to load. The selection this time was dismal in all fairness and there was hardly anything left to choose from. Think I'll take my chances and pop over to see what is left at the weekend but I will never go to the Next sale early again!! Ever!!

Oh yes, and to add. Next sell the best clothes ever for kids, they last for a good amount of time even if they are washed and worn a million times. I favour Next clothes over any other brand going and their prices are good even when they are not in the sale. They are the same ones as sold in the Directory and I have never had a problem with quality of their clothes.

My kids benefit from the next sales the best, but i alos pick up my suits and shirts etc for work at the 2 sales each year.
  • We were sensible and went at 7ish, rather than stupid-o'clock. Just got my first home and need tonnes of homeware, so bought a load of cheap light fittings and bits'n'bobs - saved about 180 quid and bagged some great bargains.

Same here... But I was told that I could get a refund if the sizes are not right. So I bought a few pair of jeans with different sizes!
