Engraved Bracelet Gone Wrong - My Rights???

Options
I bought a 9ct gold ID bracelet for my boyfriends Christmas. It was £223 plus another £20 for engraving. I picked it up from the jewellers on 20th December.

By the looks of things the engraving has been done by hand...it is very rough & ragged and the letters "B" "O" "B" are not even in a straight line!

To add to this, the bracelet sits squinty on the wrist with the id part at the front and the clasp round to the side!

Because the item is engraved, but has been totally botched up by the jewellers...what exactly are my rights? What options do i have? My boyfriend isnt at all ungrateful but he says the engraving has ruined the item (which i admit it has) and he isnt very pleased about it due to the amount of money i spend on it for him.

Please help...in a despaerate situation!

Did you buy it at the same place as the engraving ???

If so - just take it back for a refund ... and explain why

Also, was the engraving done as part of the contract (i.e, did you buy a bracelet taht was to be engraved) or separately (a bracelet and then ask for it to be engraved).
Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!
