Rechargable Batteries

With the number of remote controls, personal cd players etc a family of five collect I was wondering if I will save money by using recharable batteries instead of buying cheepo ordinary batteries from poundland etc?

Is it more cost effective to only use recharables in high drain products or in everything?

I already have a charger but very few batteries to put in it. Should I shell out now for some more to save money later?

  • Just use the cheapest leakproof batteries you can get in low drain low usage things like remotes.( and even radios)

Rechargables especially nicads lose their charge even if not used, so it would be a faff to find remote doesnt work.(once a month or so).

If you do need rechargeables, then go for NiMH ones as they are much more reliable and have 2,3, or,4 x the capacity.

For tv/video/dvd remote controls etc cheap ordinary battery will do as they will tend to last 1year+.

For high power drainage do buy rechargeables NiMH batteries, they work out much cheaper in the long run. Lidl recently had NiMH batts for sale @£1.99 for 4x AA , 4x AAA and 2x the bigger sizes. bargain price.

Could always buy from https://www.7dayshop.com if required straight away
  • If you buy rechargeables, make sure you get the 2000mAH or better ones.
