What the hell am i gonna do with my hair!!

Sorry, but starting to stress with this. I cant get someone to do a hair trial on me until i know what i "want" and i dont know what i want - i want someone to suggest - but no one is helping me - argh!

Just over 7 weeks to go, no make up or hair trial done at all. What i would like is a side tiara and a veil, so any suggestions from anyone on the planet would help. I just dont know. I have brown shoulder length hair that i usually just scrag back in a pony tail for school run convenience.

Am i being emotional - any one able to help - should i move this to "i am a bridezilla and my confession is......."

Sorry :o

Hi, do you have any idea if you want it up or down? Or some up and some down??

I have a side tiara, but no veil and I think Im going to go for some kind of side bun, I will have a google and see if I can find any pictures that may start giving you some ideas.
  • how does your hair naturally sit? straight, wavy, curly...

I would start by thinking what you really don't want - personally I feel my face looks huge if I pull everything back so I'm thinking either half up half down or just down for my day.

Type wedding hair into google images, then copy the images you like into a word document to show hairdressers.

I'd book soonish. You're not leaving much time.

Hi, don't panic, your story sounds exactly like mine! I am not a hair person at all, whenever I try anything new it doesn't work so I end up putting it in a pony tail! And I'm also on the hunt for a side tiara, spooky!

Begin by googling just 'wedding hair' and look through the hundreds of pictures it comes up with. You may not see the perfect style but it will help you eliminate things that you don't like.

Copy and paste a few that take your fancy, print them out and take them down to a friendly looking salon. Most will happily have a chat with you initially or book a free consultation. If you normally stick to just the ponytail I wouldn't go for anything too radical for your wedding, you don't want your groom to not recognise you! I think I'm going to go for half up half down with the down in loose curls. This means that it's not all round my face in the way which I'm not used to so I think it would bug me to have it completely down.

Once you've seen a few pics you like book a trial and, don't worry if you don't know exactly what you want, they'll be able to try a few quick styles out so you can get the gist of what they look like :)

    Enjoy!

Urm yes to straight, wavy, kinky, frizzy & fluffy. I dont mind really - not too much spam showing - i dont have a fringe. Difficult as i wear glasses too. Have googled and come up mostly with celeb hairstyles. Feel like walking into a salon on wedding day and say "surpise me"

It wasnt really mean to be this stressful for a small wedding.??

Thanks guys, will google again and see if anything new crops up.

Believe it or not, I didn't have a hair trial :) I booked into a hairdressers I'd used when we previously lived over near Hull, went in for a brief chat with the stylist the night before so he knew what he was working with and the accessories I had and then we just went for it on the morning of the day! I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted, I just knew I didn't want it completely smooth & slicked back to my head and he just went with it :) It freaked everyone but me out that I'd not had a hair trial but I figured it doesn't often look the same the 2nd time around anyway and it'd all be alright on the night! Here's a few pictures of my hair on the day, hopefully you can get the idea from these...

I won't be having a hair trial as were are marrying abroad the hairdresser will just come on the day & do it!

A good hairdresser should be able to sort you out & have plenty of ideas, i'd ask them what they think would suit you.

    Don't worry.

Do you have a hairdresser you use normally for trims etc?

I just used my normal hairdresser. I go to her house for trims as I know her well enough now to not pay the salon prices. I went for a hair trial at her house, and I said I wanted it curly and I took a few hair pins with me that I had bought cos I like them.

I have poker straight hair, so all I have ever wanted was it curly :rotfl: And I was convinced it wouldn't hold, as I can't get a curl to hold in it for even 1 hour.

But she was perfect. She didn't even use spray on the trial and the curls stayed for 2 days :D And I had no idea what she would do with the pins, but she just put them in perfectly and they looked amazing.

I think a good hairdresser has ideas of their own, and can look at your hair and face and suggest things that might suit you. So you just need to find someone you feel comfortable with.

First step is to ring people up and see if they are available. And then after availability check prices too, cos thats important. And then chat about styles etc after that.

You'll find something you love I'm sure :D
