Excel 2007 file corrupted after attempted mail merge

Hi guys

Today I did (or tried to do) a mail merge using Outlook 2007 and Word 2007, with the contact emails coming from an Excel 2007 file.
It crashed half way through. Although around 15 of the 60 were sent, the Excel file when I try to open now says "Excel can not open the file Mailinglist.xlsx because the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file'.

Any way to fix this? The email addresses came from a few sources that I'd copied/pasted from so will be a pain to rebuild the list.

Thanks
:)
