I have just parked in a drive, in Wembley for the Take that concert, it was half the cost of the wembley stadium parking and was easy to get out of after the concert.

Not sure if I would leave my car in someones driveway for an extended period though..Would your insurance still be valid?

We use it all the time at Heathrow. The guy we park with collects our car from the airport and delivers it back there when we return. £40 for 8 nights, can't go wrong. Yes your insurance would cover you if it was parked on someone else's drive, just like it being parked on the road. Just do a check on the people offering the service, if they are going to drive your car make sure they email or fax you over a copy of their insurance before hand. Look for ones with plenty of good feedback as well.
BTW don't know what it is with the people in Manchester though, it is as cheap to park with one of the "main" companies as it is to leave your car on a drive around Heald Green.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I've mentioned this before on here but I don't even bother paying someone to park on their drive.
Find a nice, leafy suburban street with no oiks hanging around and simply park up on the road and stroll away to the station to catch a train/tube to the airport.
You've every right to park on a public road as anyone else and most people in London don't have a clue who lives three doors away so no-one will notice a strange car there.
I've been doing this for 20 years and never had a spot of bother.
A quick tip - dump the wife, kids and luggage at the airport first so no-one sees what your doing when you park up and leave a few kids' toys on the back seat - it makes everything look innocent.
    Sweet as a nut.

If we have a strange car parked in our street for that length of time without moving it normally gets reported as abandoned - but then everyone knows everyone round here.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

    It's a public road.
Provided the details on the car such as tax and MOT are up to date the police won't touch it - as they would be liable for any expenses incurred in taking it away.
Property owners have no more rights with regard to parking outside their home on a public road than anyone else.
London has a transient population where anonymity is routine.
There's a road in Hounslow where I've been parking my car and catching the tube to Heathrow for 20 years - never had a spot of bother and saved a fortune.

A lot of people jump in their cars to the airport without considering public transport.
I live in Gosport, just across the harbour from Portsmouth.
I wouldn't dream of driving to either LHR or LGW. National Express or Southern Rail for us.
