China Three Gorges Cruise - feedback

I'm thinking of including the 3 Gorges cruise when I visit China next year but I'm quickly bored when travelling on boats.
Is there sufficient changing scenery/ activities over the 2 days to keep me occupied or is it a case of everything happening in the last few hours.
Any comments relating to the boat would also be appreciated, e.g type of meals, accomodation etc.
Thanks

You'd perhaps be better posting on the Tripadvisor forums, Chongqing region.
A few years ago I was considering doing a Yangzte cruise but after asking a few questions on TA I decided against it.0 -
I did the trip prior to the dam being build and it was lovely, I would get up at 5am and sit at the front of the boat just watching the world go by - each day we did something different enroute, to get to one gorge you have to get onto rowing boats, we saw the dam whilst in construction mode, went to see a 7 storey temple etc - I was never bored and loved the whole trip
I did it with VJV.com and can highly recommend them, did a 10 day tour going to Beijing, the three gorges and xian0 -

I'd have loved to have seen it before the dam was built.
We'd originally started out planning a China Tour incorporating a Yangzte River cruise but the more we looked into it the more we changed our minds (our tour was in Oct 2008).
As part of our 4 week tour, we cruised from Guilin to Yangshuo along the Li River (4.5 hours), the scenery was fabulous.0
