Sound Problems on my PC

When I installed service pack 2 for Windows XP I lost the sound to my speakers. There is a yellow question mark on multimedia audio controller and when I search for a new driver online it can't find one. I do not have the original disc to search for it as one didn't come with it. As Tiny have long gone out of business i can't chase them up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy new year to one and all, Dan.

Likley to be an MSI board. DO you have a model number and serial number on the box. If not , a chepa 16bit soundacrd at around a tenner will be a quick fix option form a local computer fair

It's unlikely that the drivers have been deleted.

Try disabling or deleting the hardware in Device Manager and restarting the PC. Most times it will find the drivers itself.

You'll need to open the box and check the numbers on the motherboard if you want the exact drivers.

I have tried disabling but to no avail. Are the numbers easy to find on the motherboard?
