Where to buy cheap video games?

My children (and me when they`ve gone to bed!) love video games, but obviously it can get a bit expensive.

Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy games or a website that lists current deals on the web?

For the PC or a games console? Do you want to buy the games online as well as find the cheapest prices? A couple of good price comparison sites - Pricerunner and Kelkoo. HTH

You can get good deals on preowned games in Gamestation and Game, obviously the longer you wait after release the cheaper they are.

For PC games check out Steam, they have hundreds of games availiable for download and they have frequent sales

Steam often has very good sales, I only buy for £3 or less. Like many many, due to Steam I've way more games than I've played! It makes no difference to me if I wait years before I buy whatever list of games were the 'latest and greatest', and I don't need a cutting edge PC to enjoy them properly.

eBay, Amazon marketplace, and Play market place are also good sources of second hand games - just make sure they aren't something that can't be resold due to product codes, e.g. Half Life.

For older games, Good Old Games is a great source of DRM free games http://www.gog.com/en/catalogue

    Thanks for the answers everyone.

Its primarily console games we`re after. Steam is pretty amazing but we don`t have a very good PC and we like to play on the big tv.

I was also looking for new games (presents and the like) and was under the impression online is the best place. I`ll check out some of those price comparison sites and other online recommendations from above.

for new games look in your local supermarket, they often undercut the big gaming shops on new releases, for example they had fifa 11 for £30 on release last year, i paid £45 from gamestation...

if you dont mind the odd pre-owned, computer exchange is a good site to check out...

For console games, take a look on Amazon and Ebay.

For legal free PC games, https://www.freepcgamers.com is worth a look.
