Hi guys,i am ready to switch gas & electricity suppliers and have done the various comparisons however my question is,
do the comparison results from moneysupermarket for example include the price hikes due to start in August for Scottish power.
As Scottish power are showing the cheapest for me but i dont want to find out that it will be going up in August.

Hi mandy - The problem is with Switch sites is that they can only compare tariffs that are "live" in the sense that these are the Prices/Tariffs on which the suppliers are supplying Utilities on the date you make your enquiry - Whilst price hikes may well heralded in the media, the switch sites won't show them till the day those prices are actually being charged.

When your present supplier raises prices you will be personally notified of the new tariff by letter or Email, from that date you have 10 days to notify them you reject the new contract and start a Switch procedure - From that point your supplier has to maintain the old tariff till your switch completes, and nor can they charge early exit fee's
