When is the best time to buy cameras? (Prices wise)

Hi all,

I need to buy a camera and have my eye on a digital camera that was released a few months ago.

Currently on Amazon its priced at around £300. I have been monitoring the prices and they keep fluctuating.

So I was wondering, is there a particular time of the month or season in a year where retailers lower the prices or have sales?

Its a Sony camera and I could get £40 cashback on the camera too so want to get it as cheap as possible.

When a model comes to the end of its run you can often it get for a very good price but I don't think there is a specific time of the year.

If you have been monitoring the prices and have held off buying a camera then realistically you don't need one.
