New Shower

Hi All
My shower is broken so I have purchased a new one. Being a girlie I'm not really an expert in this field so wondered if someone could help me out here. My existing (broken) shower is 7kw but I don't know if the current cable will deal with my new shower which is 8.5kw, probably not i would imagine. Can anyone advise? If I need to replace the cabling how much is that likely to cost plus the fitting of the new shower.???

It will depend on so many things including:
The age of your fuse board
The distance of shower from fuse board
If earthing in place to gas and water pipes
Shower cable is big and therefore expensive to buy and install
Last one I did was around £300 by the time I'd had to fit new parts in the board. BUT best to get a few quotes and then post them on here so we can take a look. This work must be done by a registered electrician. Search here to find one

You'll probably also need a plumber for the watery bits unless you find a sparks who's willing to get wet!
Good luck

From what Fluffpot says, sounds like it may be an expensive project.
Wondering if you specified your electrics (i.e. latest fuseboard or crummy old electrics, etc) and what type of boiler that you have perhaps someone could advise a different type of shower that would be suitable/cheaper to install???
Or get a sparks/plumber round to give you a quote. Certainly some plumbers are qualified sparks too so may be able to do whole job and/or advise you different type of shower would be more economical?0
