British Gas Duel Fuel - Cap or Move?

Hi guys,

Looking for a little advice in light of the recent 18% increase's with British Gas.

We were thinking of capping our prices but wondered if this is an easy thing to do like just getting in touch with them and asking?

We are not sure if we can move suppliers as we only rent at the moment.

We pay ours quarterly and our latest Gas and Electric bill was £167.41, does that seem low or high?

Any advice most welcome

You can have any supplier you wish, renting does not restrict you.
No capped tariffs on BG at present, the only fix they offer is Price Promise March 2013.
No one can tell you if your bills are high or low without knowing your actual consumption.
Put your annual kWh figures into a comp site to find the best deal (on variable tariffs, most of the best deals are the online discounted ones, which require payment by monthly DD).
