Delivery times for new cars

Choose a different manufacturer and/or find someone with stock. Some cars are pretty hard to get just now for varous production and supply reasons (eg Tsunami etc)
But the one thing you want to get in writing is a gurantee that they will deliver pretty close to when they say tey will. I have seen them quote say 3 months and it oesn't appear for 6 months.0 -
Assuming diesel and "VAG" you'll be looking at minimum 14 weeks from factory and most likely anything up to 20-24 that doesn't have an audi badge.
If you want a DSG gearbox think of a number and i bet it isn't big enough.
As Hintza says the tsunami has really caused a supply issue on various bits / paint pigments for a lot of manufacturers.
Try a different manufacturer but unless it is a stock item the lead times for them still aren't great.
A colleague got a "no optional extras" megane estate in about 10 weeks recently.0 -
I got my new car in 2 weeks. But is was already built and sitting in the European Centre at Zeebrugge, so it was just a matter of putting it on the ship and PDI-ing it.
As you're going for a lease car, see if your company can give you something to run around in until your new car arrives. I know my employer usually has a few cars around from people who have left.0 -
Sounds normal for a VAG Group car. There's been a combination of strong demand for certain engines and Tsunami shortages. The biggest factor affecting VAG cars is demand in China. A few % increase in sales in Europe may mean a few thousand cars extra. With China a few % increase in sales can equal tens of thousands of cars which is causing delays for customers elsewhere. The man without a signature.0
