DRO with Baines and Ernst

Hi everyone,

Posted this originally on another board but just found this one!

I'm currently in the process of trying to get a DRO with Baines and Ernst. I've read some worrying things about them here on this site but I have to say that they have been really friendly. I was in floods of tears when I made that first phone call- it was just so humiliating reading out my long list of debts - but such a cathartic process!

I've been dealing with an advisor there who sent me an Excel form to fill in and send in via e-mail. I've sent this in but haven't heard anything back. Is this usual? I've managed to save up my £90 to pay for it but they haven't even asked me for it yet!

I'm so excited at the prospect of finally clearing my debts - I'm really keen to get it over and done with as soon as possible. I've provided them with my creditors list and account numbers - is there anything else I should get ready to help speed things up?

I was very nearly 'in floods of tears' after receiving TEN phone calls from B&E in the space of 3 hours the morning after I enquired about a DRO on their website. I couldn't answer the phone at the time and at no stage did they leave a voicemail or send a text message explaining who they were - I had to wait until I got home to google their phone number to find out it was B&E. I've heard their DRO advisers are good but what they did to me was nothing short of harassment.

  • hi i dont know if this will help you at all but i used to be with bainst and ernst, i just wanted to let you know if you did your dmp with the cccs it is all free and excepted more from your creditors, with bainst and ernst you pay them a fee each month, where as the cccs all the money you pay goes to the money you owe, i switched years ago and never had a problem.

    hope this helps

A DRO is not like a DMP. With a debt relief order the only cost you pay is £90 to the OR regardless of whether you use a charity or one of the other approved intermediaries.
