For NYE.
Either Kylie or the street party in edinburgh... tickets for both all over ebay....
BUT.... need hotels... and I don't know either of the cities and close hotels...
Any recommendations or pointers to look for... i.e. locations etc.

edinburgh street party can be called off last minute due to inclement weahter conditions (called off 3 years ago if i remember correctly)
wembley safe bet weather wise.
i reckon a kylie concert would be more fun than standing outside in princes street where you are unlikely to meet any scottsh people at all, you're more likely to bump into americands and ozzies than someone scottish
tyr getting tickets for the ceilidh in the assembly rooms if there are quite a few of you hoping to go, MUCH beteer
i live just outside edinburgh by the wayA banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining and wants it back the minute it begins to rain.0 -
Most locals avoid the Bank Street party like the plague - don't know if it's because it's full of antipodean types or if because it's naff.
They'll be a) at a NY Ceilidh, b) at a house party c) clubbing it or d) standing on one of the hills in Edinburgh watching the fireworks.
As for the choice - no contest, it has to be Kylie, after all how many times will Kylie be performing "near" you on NYE. You can always go to Edinburgh next year and pay the proper price for the tickets by buying when they become available - http://www.edinburghshogmanay.org/0 -

I couldn't believe it when i read your post. We had been having exactly the same conversation about whether to go to Edinburgh or Kylie!!! We are still undecided as yet. If you go on laterooms and put in Wembley Stadium it has some availability within a couple of miles. Good luck whatever you decide. Have a cracking night.

try priceline.co.uk. You can use the "name your price" function, you choose the area you want to stay in and the standard of hotel, then make an offer. My brother gets fantastic deals on this. Breakfast is not included though......Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!
