Should I eat this?

I made a chilli con carne last Thursday evening. Instead of putting the leftovers in the freezer, I stupidly only put it in the fridge. It's been there since Thursday night in a tupperware tub.

Should I eat it? Just being cautious as I'm preggers.......

PS. And the MSE element is that I don't want to waste it, buy something else in for dinner tonight!

Dont think i would take the risk to eat it , especially since you are pregnant. think better to be on the safe side and buy something else in for tea.

I probably would eat it but would give it a good boil on the hob for a few mins. Would probably think differently if I was pregnant though!

I'd eat it, but not if I was pregnant. But if I was pregnant, I'd be eating caviar off gold plates anyway :D

Yes, me too (cept I'm veggie, lol!). I usually reckon on 5 days in the fridge for meat/egg/cream foods, but thats always a rough guide as if it tastes off its probably off and if it tastes fine its probably fine! I'd let it bubble a bit to be sure its cooked through properly. When I was little we always had a stew on the stove for a good week at a time and would just reheat it every day. None of us came to any harm.

I'd eat it...by tonight it'll be 4 days old that isn't that much. If cooked thoroughly in the first place, kept cold and then reheated properly there is little risk. You would smell it if it were bad. The general rule with cooked foods is eat it within a week.
