Roboreptile - crap batteries

Options
Bought from M & S online carton says comes supplied with 3 x AA for the remote & 6 x AA for the reptile.

After son and I unpacked it yesterday and got it going thought I'd bought a pig in a poke - seemed to be running at half speed and remote not performing most functions, no red or green lights visible.

Read cryptic note in instructions that batteries supplied are for "demonstration only" - thankfully have a large supply of rechargeables and with these in works like a dream.

They'd be better off not supplying any batteries whatsoever rather than these that are nearly drained before any use

I'm surprised it came with any batteries at all. Mine from Toys r Us didn't.

So just because you bought it from M&S, you think it would be better than the one from Toys r us?

You didn't really think that you would be getting full strengh Duracell-type batteries did you? Its all about cost savings and profit margin.

Thank G*d for that, I honestly do have friends who think that because x is from M&S it really is the best quality available!

Do you have to put the batteries in yourself or are they already in so that you can 'try before you do'. Does it have a 'press here' are see IYKWIM? If so perhaps you got one that everyone had been playing with?

No - theres no press it here to try it. Bought from M & S over the net. I did a double check a week or so before Xmas on the box and it does say batteries included. All was not lost 'cos I've got loads of rechargeables but my son wasn't too happy after we got it going round at my Mums. At the end of the day my gripe with Marks is that it contained batteries (all 9 double A's) that were not up to scratch
