Do you think cat food tastes better than dog food (I am sure no one has tried them). My dog goes mad for cat food wet or dry but is never bothered about her own food. It's the same make of food for cats and the dog just wondered if maybe cat food tastes better or if it's the other peoples food always tastes better!!

My dog is the same, my vet said there is more protein ( or something) in the catfood which makes it smell nicer? I don't know, I just have to keep their bowls separate0

That's interesting, I feed mine separate too otherwise the cats would never eat.0

My dog's a nightmare for pinching the cat's food.
Starnight is right - it's apparently the extra protein in it that makes them want it - it's actually not good for dogs to eat a lot of cat food (due to the protein) so try to stop him/her eating it if you can.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

There are many possible explanations
1. the cat food you are using has a higher meat content that the dog food you are using
2. the dry cat food is low in meat but sprayed in loads of 'digest' to make it irresistible
3. there is more surface area on the smaller cat kibble for the aroma to come off
4. the wet cat food contains more salt and sugars than the dog food
4. the dog wants whatever he cannot have!
Read the ingredients to see the differences. Canines can actually eat a higher protein/ meat diet than some dog foods supply providing they don't have a health condition (or high risk of one) which means they need a specific diet, tho I am not suggesting they should be food designed for a different species! Look at the macronutrient profile of Orijen dog food or a BARF/ raw diet.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
