I know in Australia they flag up anyone on a wanted list. I know someone who has been continually pulled aside and questioned because he has the same name as a wanted criminal... this is despite the Authorities being told he is NOT the same person and has been assured details have been changed in the system. Some time later he had to rush home to the UK as his father was dying, however, he was yet again pulled aside and questioned so much that he missed his flight.

    ...and probably record?

Besides checking if you're the holder and your passport is gunuine, they probably also keep a record of when and where you're travelling. It makes perfectly sense in this day and age.

I know the last number on your passport corner is to do with how many passports you have.

I have two valid UK passports and having checked one it does indeed say 02.

However, intrigued I checked my two previously surrendered passports and they are 04 and 06, which dispels the theory. :)

i'm intregued if they say where you have been on holiday as im sure its possible. i know the last number on your passport corner is to do with how many passports you have, but not too sure what they do see

There is no indication on your passport as to how any passports you have held. I'm not sure what number you mean bu it has nothing to do with how many passport you have had issued to you.
