Hi,
My niece has recently purchased a property and initially just went with the Utility Company that the previous owner was with. Now that they are more organised, they would like to change suppliers. Although the property doesn't have night storage heaters, they have discovered they have a white meter installed and would like it removing and an ordinary meter supplied.
Whilst it is their intention to change suppliers, should they get their present supplier or new supplier to do the change and would there be a fee to pay. Presently with Npower and about to change to EDF. Thanks - sally

EDF would change the meter without charge. However, you would need to switch to a daul rate with EDF first and then get the meter changed to switch to a single rate. Make sure you don't agree to an early exit fee if you plan to switch tariffs.

NPower may change the meter for no charge, or may agree simply to bill at a single rate despite having a dual rate meter.

You don't necessarily need storage heaters to benefit from E7. I would suggest that a price comparison is done to see whether E7 would be more beneficial or not.
(You'd need to run the process twice, once as a single rate and then as a dual rate to see which is the cheapest annual cost - ignore any suggested savings)
