No idea what the graident is I'm afraid. If someone could advise how/size to make a soakaway I'll take that option. Dont think I have another option really

A soakaway essentially looks like a basic trap and its purpose it to allow water to be slowly absorbed into the ground where access to a drainage system is not easy as in your case. It is essentially a plastic tube that you then fill with rubble or limestone chippings (I'd recommend the chippings.) You can buy a soakaway from almost any decent plumber's merchant or DIY store. I'd recommend a McAlpine branded one, if you google SOAK1GR you will be able to see what it looks like. Prices are typically in and around £20.00 but with a bit of haggling they can be profitably sold from around £12 upwards so you know where to aim for.

I should add, you can also buy bags of limestone chippings from most merchants for about £5-10 for a 20 kilo bag.

what's the gradient on that horizontal bit?

    It appears to be level!
A complete bodge-up. No proper fall, and no insulation.
OP, I suggest you get it fixed as a priority, because any warranty claim on your boiler is likely to be invalidated, as it clearly does not comply with the manufacturer's installation requirements.

Thanks very much for that chaps. Ok, next question - could you advise me how to dig/build a soakaway & maybe I'll do that myself...:j and how big, etc the soakaway would have to be...

Guess the plumber chap dosent' do soakaways - understandable, though wish he'd advised me. Thanks

    See my link here.

P.S. Limestone chippings at Wickes are a bargain.

Were you not left a copy of this along with the commissioning paperwork and warranty documentation?
You don't really need a set of instructions to know that water will not run along a level pipe!
Was your 'gas chap' a GSR registered RGI?

Thank you very much everyone. Paperwork for boiler is around (not moved into house yet, so havent even looked at it). However, thanks to you chaps I've read the installation guide - printed the relevant page, had a nice chat with my c/heating engineer & YES, he is fitting a soakaway on Friday. Very surprised at him to be honest. I've been using same guy for about 15 years & hes usually extremely thorough. Yes, certainly he is registered. Anyway hopefully he does the soakaway bit ok.

THANK YOU ALL so much though.
