Upstream speed, seems low for my 1MB...

I've done a speed test on ThinkBroadband [link] but found that my upstream speed is:

Speed Down:
951.12 Kbps ( 0.9 Mbps )
Speed Up:
229.72 Kbps ( 0.2 Mbps )

Bearing in mind I have a 1MB [AOL Silver] connection, why is my upstream speed so far below the 1.0Mbps mark? :o

Comments

  • Adsl is asymmetric, which means the upstream is slower than downstream, so it is normal.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • i worked for bt broadband for a period and believe me you are getting top notch speeds there Crabman

bear in mind that a DOWNSTREAM of 200kbps would be deemed acceptable by bt wholesale for your connection

this is the official BT speedtest with information aswell
