ASUS RT-N12 Router/AP/Repeater Fails to connect in Repeater Mode?

I have a Asus RT-N12 router, set in Repeater mode to extend the wireless network, rather than run cables from one room to another.
This has worked very well for a year, with a Dlink ADSL Router.
Now I've upgraded the Broadband to o2 and used their Thompson Router as supplied.
Now the ASUS won't connect to the new router, and just keeps saying the network key is incorrect. Despite, copying and pasting it, double checking it, and reconnecting the laptop using the same copy and paste key, just to check. Yes, I've even entered it manually, just in case!
I did have horrendous problems setting it up originally, but found that due to the firmware release installed when I bought it, so the Asus is running the latest firmware. And since been upgraded again.
I can put the old D-Link ADSL router back in, as I know they still pair up, but it has a limited wireless range, not an issue, but before I do put it back and copy over the O2 ADSL settings to it; Is there anything else I can try?
I am using WPA/WPA2 (AES) encryption, on everything!
Thanks.

Don't use the o2 Thomson router - its crap. Sell it on eBay and keep the Asus or buy a Belkin N+ with the proceeds of both0
