How long is the fos taking

Last year I had to send my claim for ppi on my lloyds credit card to the fos. The ajudicator upheld this in December but Lloyds were not playing ball, so at the end of Decemer it went into the queue for an Ombudsman. On Saturday I received a letter saying because of the court case etc I could be waiting a year or more before anything is sorted out.
I have now been waiting nearly 7 months for an ombudsman do they mean to say it could be another 12 months or that it was a standard letter meaning 12 months from submitting my claim (hope so).
I know they have received a lot of claims because of cases being put on hold etc but my claim with the fos went in last February

Hi Michelle
Sit tight on this now, these backlogs haven't helped the situation at all, however if your in hardship let them know and they will consider with your hardship reasons of taking it to fast tracking.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I have a couple of cases I have initiated on behalf of people and they are coming up to 24 months.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

There's been no court case precedent for credit card default charges which are an incidental charge for failure to pay on time rather than a service for requesting an overdraft. There's a big difference.0 -

It's OK, I didn't notice you said PPI.
Because of the Judicial Review the FOS now have a backlog though they never actually stopped considering cases but the banks were refusing to pay.
I think it will be quicker than 12 months as banks are now paying without any, or very little, arguments.0
