IPAD 2 - Best software for transferring movies

Hi, we are just back from a week in Orlando -for the flight out IFE was broken and on the return flight the sound was crackly but didn't stop Thomas Cook selling headphones 
Anyway we had an IPad with us without films and the guy across the aisle had at least 8 available on his Ipad.
Can anyone advise on the best software for the Ipad2, ideally to transfer from dvds and PCs either wirelessly or by cable. Thanks for any advice or help anyone can give.

Handbrake to convert them - It's free. Then just add them to Itunes and sync.0
