Staying in and around Toronto

Hi, I will be flying in and out of Toronto in September and would like some recommendations about where best to stay...

Only been once but stayed at the Novotel which was very central, close to the rail station for trains to Niagara, the Royal York is just a few minutes away if you want an old style but expensive hotel and Delta is a chain with a number of decent hotels downtown.

Hi Jim,
I have previously stayed at the Sheraton Centre three times..it's opposite city hall close to the Eaton Center Mall.
Also I have stayed at the Bond Place Hotel and the old Days Inn which I think is now the Best western Primrose.
Toronto is pretty pricey to stay centrally( I suppose like all big cities)
But if it's not for a long stay they are pretty nice places to stay.

I stayed at the Fairmont Royal York last month. Amazing hotel, and highly recommended.
City centre is safe and clean, and very easy to walk around.

I had my flights booked with BA, and got an excellent discount when booking the hotel through BAs website.
