hi would like to go semi wireless
basically in the office i have a computer where the modem etc is
and a computer and xbox in the lounge
at the moment i have a zyxel series 600 router( ithink thats what it is or a modem) from that i have a netgear switch from this switch i have ethernet cables going to each of the computers.
i would like to keep the computer in the office wired but go wireless in the lounge.
could someone explain what i need to buy please

Replace the router/switch with a wireless router, and get either a PCI wireless card, or wireless usb dongle for the PC.
If you have a BT line, it needs to be an adsl wireless routerEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
is it possible for the office to stay wired with that?
i have no possiblity of changing configurations with that because its locked thanks0 -

Yes!!
I have my desktop computer on an ethernet connection in my home office upstairs. Then I use my laptop wirelessly downstairs!
BT have an offer on at the moment on a BT HomeHub system, which is fantastic!0 -

That is not most users opinion of this device! It is locked for use only with BT and there are plenty of better wireless routers around to choose from.:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
