Chargeback question...

Has anyone won a chargeback dispute without proper RM pop?
Basically I sold an item, buyer paid twice - her error not mine - and I was unable to refund as there were issues with her paypal account.
I emailed her and asked her to let me know how to refund her.
Now I have 2 chargebacks on my account although item was posted to her and she left good feedback.
All i have is the standard pop - no postcode just regular 2nd class post.
Do I have any chance?

What do you mean by this? Is it the receipt that says keep this for any claim at the bottom? If so that is the new proof of posting. My PO normally write a postcode on it. So if its that it should be fine.

  • Yes that's the receipt I have but it does not have the buyers postcode printed on it, I thought that paypal would only accept proof such as recorded delivery

Surely, positive feedback would mean she has received the item and is happy with it. Sounds like the buyer has c*cked it up again!

Do you know why there's a chargeback?
Your COP should have the postcode & house number written on it by hand. So you could do that yourself, however I think on a chargeback you need to prove delivery not postage. Have a quick search through here for other threads on chargebacks.

    What sort of chargeback?

If it is a claim of fraudulent use of a card then write the buyers details on your POP and upload that to paypal . If it is an INR then you can't win as ti wasn't tracked but again yoru POP cna be used to reclaim your losses from RM after 15 working days.

As for two payments, have you managed to refund one of them yet at all as that will clear one dispute. Having 2 cases open though is putting you in the suspension zone so stay pro active on this and get it sorted ASAP.

yes the buyer actually bought 2 items which i sent out together and she left + feedback for both.
I got this from her yesterday: '
hi, don't know what you mean, no charge backs have been done and no disputes have been opened not from me. i don't know what to advise you, this has never happened before. but none of the above has happened to my knowledge. but i can tell you that i have not opened a dispute and don't know what a charge back is.'

guess this is going to take a while to sort out...

Keep track of how long you're on the phone to Paypal if you go that route (you might have no choice!), my average call to them costs around £7. And that's plus any £7 charge they make just for being the victim of a chargeback! Hope you get it sorted.

I've had similar, where the buyer was completely (genuinely) unaware of anything. It was actioned from the bank themselves who issued the card that was used. It may be a new card perhaps, and bnot used for Paypal before now maybe? That's what happened to me anyway.

I have phoned them twice now - they were not particularly helpful,,
Have now scanned every relevant item and forwarded emails etc so shall wait and see what happens. Really cross!
