Price of an ipod touch @ Dixons Gatwick?

We are flying to the US soon and DD would like to buy a new ipod touch.
I thought buying from Dixons at Gatwick might be an option but there are no prices online.
Anyone been recently and know the current price?

Hi FloFlo,
I can't tell you exactly, but based on my experience of flying from Heathrow or Gatwick at least once a month for work, it is 99.9% certain that it will be more expensive than you can get it on the high street or on-line - and it won't be guaranteed that it will be in stock.
So, my advice would be don't "buy before you fly" - buy before you get anywhere near the airport.
The alternative would be to buy in the US - and you could check out the prices on-line in Target, Best Buy, etc. before you go.
Best Regards,

Thanks will start looking around for offers and check US prices.0

Utter utter tosh, all apple items are pretty much price fixed and therefore they are cheaper airside, given that I work at an airport you may say I probably know more about this situ than most, and before I buy anything airside I always price check items and to date i have never found ipods cheaper than airside dixons or hmv, personally I would be inclined to check out HMV tax free though as they often have special deals, ie tax free and free/cheap extras.
Im at work at the mo but really cant get motivated to walk round to outbound, however if you can wait till tommorow I will go and have a look at prices and deals for you.
Given the not so amazing exchange rate at the mo in US you may find most apple items are'nt an awful lot cheaper than over here also you need to ensure your item comes with an international guarantee incase it goes kapuutLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Me again,
Just back from HMV airside and they currently have 32gb ipod touch at £212.
Looking at target in the states this is approx £10 more than it would be in the states, based on an approx sales tax of 10% and getting $1.5 to the £.
All take into consideration that HMV quite often have special deals on, in the past I've got various itunes vouchers thrown in with the ipod etc. And buying this item will not effect your duty free allowance too!!
So the choice is yours!!!Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Above and beyond mate:TThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0
