Just being nosey here - what is everyone intending to try and do in the New Year particularly in relation to money saving???
I am going to try using up all the freezer/cupboard food before I do a proper shop again instead of just buying more unnecessary food.

Thats one resolution I'll be doing too and a couple more I have are;
To stop browsing ebay  when I'm supposed to be listing items to sell.
Sit down and read up on matchbetting..I'm determined to give it a go this year
To clear my house from clutter, I have just far too many bits and pieces shoved in cupboards everywhere and can never find the things I need.
To declutter my computer so it will run a little more smoothly0 -
Well where do I start ?
Once the extension is finished in circa 6 months I plan to have a chest freezer in our new garage, this will mean I can grow even more vegetables and soft fruit then freeze some.
As with regards to Christmas I will go out on Christmas Eve 2007 approx 12.30-1pm and look for reduced Christmas food which has been reduced to clear, save myself a few pounds and get a bargain turkey.
I want to declutter too - again this will be sorted when the contents of the old garage now in my house are moved into the new garage.
I will sell things on ebay that I no longer need and I will also stop buying from ebay. I will also do a few more car boot sales to make money.
I will also stop going at things at 1,000 miles an hour and get all the facts and information before I jump head first.
My initial 2007 goal is to reclaim my bank charges from HSBC - 2nd letter will be sent shortly.
Then there is a diet - fresh food which will hopefully shave the pounds off my shopping bill as well as my figure.

Stick with the meal planning and sort out a realistic budget for groceries per month
Car boot sale once per month and declutter in the process
If I don't pick too many there is a chance that I might stick to them!!0 -
Several
Spending diary that is kept to on PC to save buying more diaries
Meal plans & buy what I need (less throwing out)
Budgets that are stuck to!
Learning to say NO more often (DP and kids)
Declutter - eBay what I can and freecycle the rest for a clutter free life!
Not buy kids clothes until they need them (they have way too many)
More free family days out
Make sure I am getting the best value for money with everything
Try to use electrical items less, especially lights
Start to save for our holiday abroad! One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Hi
I'm going to try to keep to a realistic budget rather than just spending as I go along and having no idea what I've spent
and
Cook a lot more from scratch and put more home cooking in the freezer so that I won't need to buy as much ready made stuff (hopefully good for my figure and my budget)
Good luck everybody and have a happy and stress free new year

were building a conservatory in spring , so my plan is to make sure everything we buy is the best value for money with it. i have the furniture in my mind planned but i am gonna wait till i see it with discount's.
and i plan on getting s herb garden instead of buying 69p packs of fresh all the time. and i might get a green house , i have been reading up on best things to grow etc and i have lots of enthusiasim (sp?)
also i am going to work alot harder on my budget. after spending about 250 on xmas food and about 240 worth still left in cupboard it made me realise i only bought it as i felt i had to . oh well at least i should need to buy anything for a while. So going to budget and plan more. we have a lidl coming to my area it will be about a 5 min walk so hoping this will help with my budgeting.0 -
I intend to have so many new year resolutions for 2007 that I'm going tohave write them all down! But money saving wise, I intend to:
1.Leave my credit cards at home so I'm not tempted to buy things if I don't have the cash on me!
2. Keep a spending diary so I can see where the cash goes!
3. Make my own bread
4. Plan my food shopping more so no food is wasted
5. Dedclutter house and sell what I can online.
And I'm sure there will be more, but I can start my list with those!Official DFW Nerd Club #20  Proud To Be Dealing With My DebtsDFW Long Hauler #109

I have a few resolutions (9!) going at the minute or set to kick in once the new year starts.
1. Get in shape - the free way - ie cycling and using my xmas present (step machine thingy) and other workout stuff i have laying around
2. More fresh produce - am going to try growing my own
3. Learn to drive - need to now as bf cant wiht his bad eye
4. More quality time things with my son
5. Learn to play the guitar - have had an electric gutiar sat in the bedroom fro nearly 7 years now and can still only play happy birthday and the eastenders theme tune!
6. Declutter - a small 2 bedroom flat is starting to get a bit too small and snug - especially as Xmas has just passed us - i need some more space - must learn to get rid of old stuff and stop hoarding - ebay mainly thoguh i think to get ahead for Xmas next year
7. Oh yeah i will be doing the 20p saver club again! and keeping all the pennies in a pot towards christmas 2007
8. Keep a budget on the computer (this will aslo include a meal plan, cupboard/freezer/fridge stock lists and savings record!)Making Changes To Save My LifeCurrent weightloss - 2lbs (week 1)0 -
Im hoping to grow some veggies in my small garden.
Use up the food in the cupboard/freezer before buying more.
Id also like to try matchbetting, its all a bit confusing to me at the mo, but will find out more about it in the new year, and hopefully have a go!!!!
more selling/less buying on ebay/amazon.
Finally, lose the stone ive put on over Christmas!!!!!! (well half a stone over xmas, but the other half needs to go to!!!)0
