Hi again,
The offer was 100% including the stair lift and this was very clear, but again this was verbal and not written, which I fear you will say again was a mistake. (i have never given a written offer, but will make sure I do in future)
And I am still not paying their legal fees! hehehe So if we cant resolve that its done with any way!Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0 -

With my clear head on (which is thanks to you all) I can see that,
A) we are having the bathroom ripped out anyway, so bathlift will come out with this
We will have to get new oven connected, so cost will probably be the same to remove one and connect one, as it would be just to connect one. (will only cost a bit extra once gas man is there remove fire)
C) I can rip up the caprets that are not needed and take them down the tip.
With this in mind, and the other points about paying sellers fees, I dont think so!
I am still inclinded to go for option 1, then move to option 2 if forced, then option 3.
Option 1 - say we want these things correcting within 5 working days otherwise we are pulling out. (or offer less?)
Option 2 - compromise on ABC to get stair lift included for free
Option 3 - Walk away
Personally I'd go with Option 2. This is what a buyer might reasonably expect to be included in a sale, whereas removing ovens, bathlifts etc would not reasonably be expected (and you are right in that you'll probably get these removed for minimal cost if you are having other work done anyway). Plus the stairlift will probably be the most expensive of the lot to sort out.
There is no reason at all for them to expect you to pay their legal fees and if they insist on this, move to Option 3.0 -
Offer them £10k less as they are trying your patience.............0

You were less than clear with us about the stairlift being include in the offer until this post ... and your letter to the solicitor and the agent did put it back in the frame as a negotiable albeit as a deduction if it was not included.hellokitty08 wrote: »Hi again,

OK, if you were clear that it was part of the offer, go back to the agent and ask him "What are your clients playing at? Our offer was very clearly with the stairlift included and now they want extra for it. Would you kindly crack the whip and ensure that your clients staick with the agreed deal?". This can only work to the extent that the Agent is clear that the stairlift was part of the deal.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I have spoken to the estate agent today who agrees with me that our offer was including the stair lift.
He was going to speak to the vendor today. I will phone him tomorrow to chase this up.
Also he thinks that the vendor had completed the paper work when he originally put the property on the market 10 months ago, rather then specifically for our sale, as again he agreed what we had confirmed in terms of the other bits and pieces.
Just have to wait for confirmation from the estate agent tomorrow that this paper work is being corrected and sent to the solicitor.
Also aparently, where it referes to the buying paying the sellers legal fees for the lease, that refers to the legal fees for the freehold on our purchase of the lease, not the seller, who also had to pay to surrender. Its all a bit complicated. (but this had been agreed, so hopefully ok)
I would have made right mess on this if it wasnt for your help. So thanks again.Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0
