Wireless routers?

My laptop has built in wireless and im on NTL broadband..

How do I know if I need an ADSL or cable router?..and whats the diff?

Also..

My dad bought my younger sister a PC for her room.. they already have one in living room so wanted to kno how they made the PCs wireless if that makes sense?

Any help much appreciated with this Post-Crimbo technical nitemare haha!

If you have NTL cable broadband, you will need a wireless cable/DSL router like one of these. An ADSL wireless router has the modem built in whereas a cable wireless router will connect to your existing cable modem or NTL TV box.

ntl is a cable system, so you will need a cable wireless router, differnece is ADSL uses a standard (BT) telephone line and cable uses a spacial ntl box on the wall.

for your dad, he would need to install wireless PCI cards in both machines
