Barclays, Lombard Direct + Tesco PPI

Hope someone can recommend the best route on this?
I have a Tesco Loan (car loan) taken out in 2008 which when clearing out some financial documents i found out it had PPI included. I dont recall asking for this but it does tell me the payments on the information they sent out back in June 2008. Payments for the PPI section are £52.82.
Well i was let go from my place of work last August 2010 and i started work in January 2011. I spoke to Tesco in August 2010 and said i was having trouble making the payments as i was being made redundant so they put me on a reduced payment plan. I had several discussions with Tesco to say i was out of work and they made no mention of claiming on the PPI i had forgotten about.
I have rang them and said that had I been offered the option of using the PPI i would probably not have to take the reduced payment plan. They are coming back to me.
I have also lodged a complaint with Barclays for two PPI loans as I didnt request the PPI to be added and was also unaware the interest would still be charged after the PPI had ended (5 Years for the PPI with a 20 year loan period):
First one was Dec 06 PPI payments for £45.36 but was settled early in Nov 2007 (i think 10 payments were made before settling the loan in full). Lodged the complaint on the 5th July 2011 and got a letter today (9th July) to say they will get back to me before the 25th Oct 2011.
Second one is still ongoing and i lodged the complaint on the 12th May and had 3 letters now saying they will get back to me by the 5th July, then the 29th July then the 1st Of August (the last two letters arrived the day after each other?) The PPI payments are £37.22 - i think about 36 payments made so far)
Finally i also discovered my previous car Loan from Lombard direct also had PPI on - this was in March 2004 (is this one too old to claim?) and was settled early in June 2007. This one doesnt even tell me the PPI portion of the payment but the monthly payments were £231.98 - i think 36 payments were made before the loan was settled in full. i have sent them a letter asking for them to investigate the mis-selling of this policy. But no response yet.
I have made no claims on any of the policies by the way.
Finally my questions - do i have good case on any or all of them? Also if i do what do you estimate i might get back?

Just reread my first post about the 2nd loan from Barclays and realised i hadnt added the dates - it was taken out on June 2008 - hence the 36/37 payments0

Hi
In regards of the calculations, I am not good at that sort of thing unfortunately :o:D LOL. So with a bit of luck, the ones that can deal with this actual part of it will check them out for you, although they may require further details.
But in my opinion you have every chance just like everyone else with your reasons.
What I will mention though, if you have a payment arrangement, and are paying less than the usual amount, if successful its possible they may use the refund towards the amount, and anything remaining plus interest from what I am aware of should be awarded directly to you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Yeah for the tesco loan - i would be quite happy if they got rid of the ppi amount and credited it back to the loan with the ppi payments i have made. Probably would not need a payment arrangement at all then! if i got anything extra would be a bonus!
How long do i think i should wait for Tesco to reply? And the lombard one? Barclays seem to be responding quite well so will leave that with them for now (apart from them continually moving the date back - but i believe they have to deal with the complaint within 16 weeks - conincidentally the dates they have said they will responsd by!!)0 -
Had a few more updates on these:
Tesco letter saying they will reply by the 8th August (seems quick but will see if they put it back like Barclays did!)
RBS replied regards the Lombard loan as they have taken over them - Promising to reply with 16 weeks - which is 3rd November - at least they have finally acknowledged my letter!0 -
Hi
Sorry I missed your posts, and wishing you luck on your reclaiming, hope you hear some good news very soon.
Fingers crossed.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Had no response from Barclays even the last letter said they would respond before the 1st August - rang them - the first guy i spoke to said they were working to a 16 week leadtime so would have to respond before the end of August. i should have had a letter saying this or should do soon! i was passed through to another guy when i asked what stage my claim was at and he said a final offer would be due to be in the next few weeks.
has anybody heard anything from Barclays yet - i read lots of posts from other successful claims from other banks but nothing from barclays?0 -

Sounds like a fob off to me. If on or before 21st April they have promised payments by end of August. Otherwise Bobs going to look a fool and I read big fines might be imposed. After this date then messages from Barclays are mixed. I know for loans there have been letters saying we are going to make a goodwill offer (dont worry its equivalent to having claim upheld). I dont know of any one having definitive figs. Unless you get a person saying I have your claim number on screen here and yes you will recieve an offer of redress by....... I wouldnt trust the comments you have had back so far.
I think its another call in. Dont forget thogh they have until the end of this month for no quibble claims and 16 weeks to make an offer otherwise. Every chase or call in just means another person not having there claim dealt with. Not moaning just being a pragmatist.
