Giving unwanted items to local charity

Options
Hi

Have been having a bit of a spring clean and have some old bedding and clothes that I no longer need/use.
I've tried googling in the local area, but can't find anything. Can anyone suggest any sites that I can visit that might tell me about local charities/shelters where I can visit to donate these items?
There are charity shops up the high road, but I'd rather just give direct so I know its going to a good cause, rather than being sold for peanuts

Thanks
Nick

    where are you based?
I did the same and rang the shops, a couple were willing to come and collect the items from me as I don't have a car, maybe try the same?
    hope you get sorted.

Salvation Army. Also if you say where you are, people might know your area.

If you don't want to do that, then I guess you could try googling Volunteer plus your local area, on the grounds that many such organisations will use volunteers ...

    Hi

I live in Buckhurst Hill (Essex). I have a car, so dont mind travelling.
I dont have much, but I usually have a clear out every few months, so would be nice to know somewhere to take all my unwanted clothees and household stuff

    thanks again

Just thought, Women's Aid might be glad of household goods.

  • Perhaps you could try local churches that do homeless shelters. Even if you're not religious many churches allow homeless people to stay the night and they're often in need of some good bedsheets and clothing. Just I thought.
