Ok, so you have to use at Tesco first? Do they write on the receipt too?I Hate Jobsworths!!!0

I am slightly concerned in that Asda promise to be 10% cheaper and yet my last 3 checks have produced vouchers with each one over £2.00.....
Happy in a way but the problem is that they are therefore NOT 10% cheaper so in fact if you dont check your receipt you will pay more than other supermarkets.Surely it would be better just to shop elsewhere in the first place as they are in fact probably more expensive.0 -

They probably SHOULD but, in my limited experience, hardly any Tesco staff know quite what to do with the Asda receipt - I've only been asked for the receipt once! Mind you, some Asda staff only want to look at the receipt to check the transaction number and then give it back without writing on it. Really, as with Tesco DTD and RTD vouchers, it all in the Lap of the Gods.ELITE 5:2

I agree, the advertising is a joke. I go 2-4 times a month and spend around £20. I was shocked not to get a voucher this time as I am so used to ASDA not coming out 10% cheaper!0 -
I always try to do the price guarantee at ASDA, the truth is that a lot of us (*cough* poor folks) don't get to travel to other supermarkets to shop where it might have been cheaper in the first place, we only have an ASDA in town, everything else is a bus ride away and you really don't want to be taking the bus and spending the extra £4.80.
We have our own method for the guarantee - as my shopping usually consists of reduced items and economy essentials, I rarely buy anything that's not the cheapest in the shop, but my 8 year old son loves hunting around the tills and the trolleys to find disguarded receipts that folks who come in and spend real money leave behind - so we take their old receipts home, put them through and print off the vouchers they weren't interested in collecting.
I have two on my desk just now that I've printed for £1.08 and 66p, they're not going to change the world but they're a loaf of bread, a litre of UHT and a pack of economy crisps we can have sometime in the next month for free.
Dylan loves it when he's found a good receipt :T"There is no substitute for time."

I've never used this but how can you compare prices like for like.
Ok if you're buying same a packet of Vitalite and a box of Weetabix, but what if you're buying a bag of oranges and 1lb of fish.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I've just started checking mine in Tescos - I've found the best thing to do is to put a basket inside my trolley where I put any special offers that I've picked up and pay for those first. Then pay for the remainder and pricecheck this receipt. I've also found out that you shouldn't put any whoopsies in the comparison shop as they will compare to the full priced item, which is underhand and made me
To take full advantage though, the best thing to do is look through the Tesco website at their offers before you set off and make a note of whatever you normally buy which is on offer
