Asda 10% guarantee

Have just used this for the first time yesterday and this morning, their 10% price guarantee @ www.asda.com/priceguarantee

I have used it with the last 3 weeks reciepts and now have vouchers for £2.98 £1.68 & £1.66, you need your receipt but other than that it's quick and easy to follow. I hadn't bothered until now, serves me right for being lazy :embarasse

If it's been mentioned before on here sorry, but I'd like to recommend it's use or encourage others to use it.

  • Price guarantee is a bit misleading.

I have used ASDA's home delivery service for quite a while - due to necessity, and this is my experience.

    1. Numerous missing products and/or poor subsitutes.
    2. Fruit and vegetables that are just about to go off.
    3. Missing products for which you will be charged - with your (stolen) money not being re-funded.
    4. A Customer Service phone number that is inaccessible.
    5. A Customer Service email address that continually returns your emails with the message, "Message Undeliverable"

In my view, the main problem with ASDA is that they refuse to take responsibility for their service when it is poor, and their website lures you into using their Home Delivery Service by advertising certain products at a good price but which they then claim to have run out of stock.

So you end up not getting the products that you thought were a good bargain.

Er, the price guarantee is rather different than the home shopping referred to in your post !

Just got a voucher for the grand total of.... 31p woohoo

What happens if Asda are only 9% cheaper?
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

You still get a voucher. You don't get a voucher if they are more than 10% cheaper as that's what they are guaranteeing to be. So, you get a voucher if they are more expensive or up to 10% cheaper.

I check my receipts every week, some weeks I get a voucher, others I don't.

I noticed they have now got a terminal in the store where people can check their receipts so you don't need to go on the internet to take advantage of this.

I've got a few vouchers from the price guarentee, but, because ASDA is so shockingly appualing i won't be actually using the vouchers as I have decided not to shop there again.

what happened Bramble? Most people complain about how bad T is compared to the other supermarkets. Most say how pleasant Asda is.

I have printed off coupons this morning :D

    £1

    £1.03

    £0.11

    £1.27

when I told DH, he told me I was sad. But he just does not listen when I tell him how expensive food is these days, and I know by buying daily, the cost of the prices fluctates ridiculously, esp when there is a promotion. They lower prices on certain products and raise on other products, so they do not lose any money and customers think they are getting a bargain with their promotional products.

he will realise when i send him shopping with £70 only and say go buy this shopping list and finds he doesn't have enough money!

I find their staff incredibly rude and unhelpful, they never seem to have much in stock, the first few times i wrote this off as bad luck, but it's happened every time this year. So have decided to stick to Sainsburys where the staff are helpful and if something isn't out on the shelves they will see if they've got it in store or recommend something else instead, plus the nectar points have been life savers as when we are skint we've always get nectar money to buy food with.

LOl the staff I know at my local store are great!

I dont quite understand the maths behind the asda price guarantee...when I go into the breakdown of comparisons with tesco, morrisons etc (in turn), some products are cheaper in those stores than in asda yet I dont get a coupon??-Is the price guarantee done collectively on all the shopping then?
Sounds a bit misleading, esp from the tv advert; they have little catches, like you have to have 8 different products in your shop which is a bit sneaky like.

I've used the ASDA price guarantee 6 times now, and it's worked fine on 4 occasions. On the other two occasions I've had to contact Asda about it, and have only had a response to the first one. I always walk to Asda, so therefore I can't buy that many items. I tend to go with a shopping list of 10 to 12 items, but always at least a couple of items are out of stock so I end up buying between 8 and 10 items. On the two occasions where I've had a problem with the price guarantee, it's been when i've bought 8 different items. On both occasions, when I've entered my receipt details, it's come back to state that I haven't purchased enough items, when I clearly have.

On reporting it to Asda, their response was that although I'd purchased 8 different items, as one of them wasn't listed on the Asda.com website on that date it didn't count. The item in question was a tin of fruit, which ironically hadn't been an issue on previous receipts.
