Flawless Skin - Is it possible?!

Hi
This is Nicole on Shanelle's account, I've posted once or twice before....
I loathe my skin........
My first one of many problem areas;
Chin
Horribly porous, I have one reoccuring spot there the achy type one which appears like a lump and gets redness in its later stages. Generally my chin also has tiny goosebumpy spots all over!
Forehead
tiny pinprick like spots scattered all over my forehead, some are more noticeable as they have split tops, and others only seen on close inspection
General Face
Tiny goosebumpy spots which make my complexion and skin look uneven you can only see them when you look up close, and some look like indents!
What can I do... I wanna feel comfortable in my skin for once...
As a child, I lived in Mexico..... I'm from there o I have this permanently tanned light brownish skin, not incredibly dark or light but the complexion of most asians from countries like Pakistan or Bangladesh..
Does anyone have any tips for flawless skin, or any ways to get there!
P.s not forgetting the unsightly bags I've got!

i'm not sure everyone can get fully flawless skin, but as someone who suffered from acne from being in junior school, i completely understand your pain!
i don't think there's one skincare range that will work for everyone, but i did have a facial last year for the first time ever and it was really interesting to hear what they said about my skin. i've been using very strong anti-blemish products for years (still get spots mind, not so many, but the huge inflamed glowing red ones! i shouldn't touch them but i can't help it and i'm sure that makes it worse!!) and interestingly they said i don't have sensitive skin and instead it's dry. so i've been using things that haven't being working for me.
things have improved with me using much better cleansers (recently started using purity by philosophy, which i like). i'm exfoliating twice a week but following up with good moisturisers and it's made a difference. i still have big open pores, but they're getting better, just slowly.
i also regularly use the oil cleansing method as a really big deep cleanse. a lot of MSE people have had massive improvements using that.
maybe people can give some suggestions for improvement on your current beauty regime if you post what you're using atm? it sounds to me like a really good deep cleanser that isn't too harsh would be the best place to start. then working out what your skin type actually is is important. i was shocked that i'd been so wrong for so long!:happyhear0 -
Have a look on the liz earle web site. A little expensive but her products very good, and the products excellent.0

Exactly! I worked on a magazine for a while and the models would come in with lovely skin. They would then have half a ton of mega-expensive foundation and concealer put on them, but the photos would still be photoshopped! I don't think skin is naturally ever flawless as pores and different shades of colour are natural. When I see women who have managed to make their skin look flawless with foundation it always looks rather flat like a mask to me.0 -

Hi
Thank you for the advice, my skin cleansing regime wasn't really too intensive. I first exfoliate with St Ives and moisturise with Aveeno. I wash my face almost OCD style, this prevents me from having major breakouts but its not really getting rid of the general horribleness of my face skin.
The Oil cleansing method sounds great, the reviews are quite positive. Any tips on how to clean my skin using this method? some of the websites online look a bit contradicting... I'm pretty sure my skin isn't dry, I've never had a bout of dry skin in my life and my face skin always feels soft despite the nasty spots! :rotfl:
About using Castor Oil, its no special type is it? I could just pop to Asda to get some right?0 -
I don;t know if I mentioned this in my post, but I wasn't entirely focusing on makeup when I wrote it, I kinda wanted a more permanent method for good looking skin

I'll have a look at the Liz Earle stuff, hoping its not too pricey.

Could you see a dermatologist? No idea what they cost but see if you could afford to do it and work out if you think it is worthwhile as an investment, if better skin is going to give you a boost. And it could end up cheaper than trying to treat it yourself and repeatedly buying beauty products that may or may not work.Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0

Hi,
One of the best ways to clear skin is drinking water. It's almost miraculous, and absolutely free! Aim for between 6 and 8 glasses of water a day and you should see a difference in a couple of weeks:D0 -
I second Liz earle! She does say it's good for teenage problem skin etc as it's all natural so maybe it would help you too? Cleanse and polish!!0
