Unknowingly Bankrupt

  • As far as I am aware you can pay your debts, have the bankruptcy set aside and have the defaults marked as "satisfied" on your CRF.

The Court which made you bankrupt will have the full details of the conditions of your bankruptcy, it might be a good idea to phone them and ask about those details. Then ask about paying the debt. See what happens.
  • If the order has been suspended indef then its as it says - its something that you really need to get in touch with the Insolvency Service about quite urgently as its never going to go away.

If you have already been made bankrupt you would not be able to simply pay a pro rata amount to clear the debts. There are now the fees of the OR, DTI etc etc to contend with - and they can amount to rather a lot !

Try posting here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=273844&page=85 as there are a few people who have been and are going through the process.
