my local council is paying rent and council tax, they have just sent me a 'review' form in the letter it says that by law random checks have to be carried out and my file was selected and to fill it in, now at the moment im not at the flat full time as i need looking after for various health reasons, it means having to sleep at home sometimes, how do i tell them this, how do i put it in writing ?

By "sleep at home sometimes" do you mean staying with a parent/relative rather than at your flat? As long as it is still your main place of residence that is the important thing. Unless you are spending more time away than actually in the flat I wouldn't worry about it and don't think you would even need to mention it.Torgwen..........

as its your main place of resident and you are the sitting tenant. when they come show them id, like photo id. this is to stop stuff like sub letting nothing to worry about routine stuffi will be debt free, i will0

They just come out and do random visits here out of the blue.0

no, no no, not a visit, they just want me to fill a form in telling them what they already know, if there are any changes that need mentioning.0

So which question/s in particular are giving you a problem? Do they specifically ask you to state that you are living there seven days a week? If not, I'd just answer the general questions as best you can.
If there are specific ones you are struggling with, let us know what they are (and exactly how they are worded), and we may be able to help you construct an answer that doesn't compromise your situation.

Do you realy mean that? Sounds like not being truthfull ...Bogof_Babe wrote:If there are specific ones you are struggling with, let us know what they are (and exactly how they are worded), and we may be able to help you construct an answer that doesn't compromise your situation.0 -
I didn't mean it to come across as encouraging untruthfulness, but without knowing what these questions are actually asking, I thought the OP might be getting worked up about nothing.
I mean, if a question does say "do you live in the property seven days a week without exception?" then that is obviously trickier than "is the property your main residence?".
If the question is worded as per my first example, then of course the OP should be truthful. I was offering to think of the best way to say that his/her occasional overnight absence is for very good medical reasons, and not that he/she has alternative accommodation.
I understand some of these questionnaires are designed to try to trip people up if they are being devious, and was just offering to help in a genuine case. I am, of course, assuming that this is a genuine case.

it says: are you living away from home at the moment: yes or no:
tell us why you are living away from home
what address are you living at the moment
its referencing to the flat, those are what im stuck on, whether i should declare i have to be away during the night.0 -
How often are you staying away from the flat?0

Do you think there is a possibilty someone may have reported you as not living at the flat?
If there is the slightest chance of this then you need to state on the form that due to health reasons you are presently having to spend nights away from home. It's best to be truthful rather than put your benefit at risk & have them investigating you.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
