Misdescribed item bought from Amazon

Ha ha....are you deliberately missing the point? On the Apple Website it doesn't have "Ipod 2nd Gen re-release with new s/w 8gb 09-2009"
The model types (again from the Apple Website) are Ipod touch 2nd generation and Ipod touch 3rd generation.
If I'm buying a Ford Fiesta 1.6 latest model I would expect the latest model. I wouldn't expect to find I had bought last years model because Ford now don't do a 1.6 engine but they did in the previous model.0 -
Very good, this is with the benefit of hindsight of looking up model types and release dates.0

Ok, here is the last word on this. I have found there are lots of posts on different forums commenting on the issue that I have with the Ipod. Anyway, I have had a response from Amazon and they are offering a full refund. Make of that what you will.0

i make it a 'hush up this customer' response.
I bought a guitar kit and the 2-quid tuner broke. i wanted a replacement, they said i had to return the guitar, strap, dvd, stand, strings, book, case, tuner all for a 2-quid tuner. i said "never mind!"Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
Well done Dave101t. Your experience of being offered a full refund has tainted a Companies response to a Customer feeling misled and responding by offering them a full refund.
I am going to ask you....name me more companies who do this after a year?
Customer - Sorry I bought something and thought it was something else. I have used it for a year and it is now no longer sellable. Can I have my money back?
Amazon - Sorry if you feel misled and yes here is your money.
Unbelievable that companies always get the short end of the stick for lacking customer service but when a company seems to offer full refunds for poor customer experience whether it be a faulty component (Tuner) or a mistaken buy, we still criticise.
I wonder what you felt Amazon could do more for the customer and I wonder if the company you work for is a manufacturer and if it has the same ethics after a year of use?
As an Amazon customer who has had to return products and actually received the replacement before I have returned it (How many do this) I have to say fair point they feel misled but well done for a company who listened.0 -
Very good, this is with the benefit of hindsight of looking up model types and release dates.
Did you not think of doing some research BEFORE placing the order? That would be the logical thing to do, if Amazon are accepting this back after a year then they are doing you a pure favour here as they don't have to. You got what you received but in your mind you didn't, even though this was your error you are STILL complaining on here.

Whats the point here? What did you expect, a tuner to be sent out on its own????
They probably wont stock tuners on there own so in this case it is either return the whole lot for a whole new replacement or a refund.
This is the only logical resolution or a £2 reimbursement for the damaged tuner.0
