Hi,
for the last three days I have had no dial tone on my landline phone although if I ring it the phone rings and when Its answered the ring stops but can still be heard through the earpiece!
Line rental is with BT and calls with sky talk. Ive followed all the troubleshooting from skys website and nothing works. My phone works fine in a neighbours house and my broadband is still running.
Ive emailed sky and they have acknowledged the complaint, anyone had the same problem and how long is it likely to be before its sorted?
thanks.

You need to call BT,NOT Sky as you still pay BT for your line. You also need to remeve the front faceplate on the master socket & connect a different, corded phone into the test socket to rule out a fault with any internal extensions.0

thank you, reported it through bt website and they think its a fault at the exchange.

Your BBand will still work if the's an exchange fault on the PSTN (Phone) side as the bband & phone split off to their respective circuits when they enter the exchange,so it's not uncommon for the BBand to work if the is a fault, you change phone providers or have the phone cut off.0
