Postage to Latvia?

Options
I have a perfume gift set currently listed on eBay.

I have had a query about postage to Latvia - although I have listed UK only, so a few queries for those more knowledgeable than me:

1. Is it likely to be safe to post to Latvia?
2. If so, how can I ensure I keep PayPal seller protection?
3. Where can I find the best postage rates for Latvia?

Thanks

I sent a coat to Lativa last week it cost about £4 (rates are estimated on RM site) it arrived without any problems and seller left feedback.

I also posted an item to Latvia (and had been concerned) - buyer left feedback after 5 days confirming receipt.

Latvia is part of the EU and has a good modern postal service. Items of mail take a while to get here - when I was last there I posted myself a card (I collect stamps from that region) and it took three weeks to arrive - but other than that it's fine.

In fact I've had a Latvian seller point-blank refuse to send me stuff when I lived in Poland, preferring to send to my UK address instead. Make of that what you will...

Check with customs some countries do not allow perfumes to be imported or have restrictions on them.

Strangely enough not necessarily. Germany for instance has some very strange rules about makeup and perfume and you will note that many large sellers of such items state on their listing they cannot ship to Germany for that very reason.

I occasionally sell military memorabilia and also sometimes have to block German buyers as there are certain things that might just trigger an issue at customs.

I have no idea though if Latvia has any restrictions.

Isn't there also an issue with France and perfumes and Italy and clothing?

    No idea about Latvia though.

Oh yes you might be right, I remember a thread about a perfume going to France being stopped, can't remember how it turned out though.

I have just bought some perfume from Latvia, which arrived quickly and with a full customs declaration.
